Credit Roll

You know at the end of a movie when the credits roll? Isn’t it amazing how many people put their talents into a film? Sound and setting and costume and … oh, the actors and screenwriter, producer and director. So on and so on.

Authors have a credit roll too! (But not an Oscars. At least, not yet!)

Six years ago, I went to my very first writing conference, full of stars in my eyes. I didn’t find an agent there. And the scene I had submitted for a critique was ripped to shreds.

But in one of the workshops I met a writing buddy who’s had my back all these years … and counting. When the plot isn’t coming together, he tells me to keep at it. When I’m in a jam, he’ll take a look and give me a pat on the back.

Now, he’s asking for my help.

Writers tend to sit on their assets (okay, I’m speaking for myself here), but Michael got up from his laptop and decided to — get this! — RUN A MARATHON. A 26.2-mile-long run is impressive on its own, but he’s doing this for World Vision. Every penny donated toward his cause gives fresh water to a person in need.

As great as this cause is, he’s got a problem. He’s coming up short of his financial promise and if he doesn’t make at least $1,750 in donations, he can’t run (!!!). That’s a problem!

Will you help him out?

Help out a writer-friend for a great cause by donating here.

Even $10 can help get him into the race, but if you can give a little more, $50 gives clean water to one person.

Okay, enough from me. This is what the marathon-runner-hopeful says:

If you can donate, GREAT! If not … will you spread the word? Here’s the link to tell your friends and family: Michael Jarnebro – Fundraising For Team World Vision

Psst! Since he’s running for an organization, all donations are tax deductible.

So, you’d be helping Michael, people who need clean water … all without being taxed! Win-win-win!

Your contribution can make a difference!

Ready? On your mark. Get set … donate here!

Your turn: ‘Fess up. Do you read the credits???
